Lightning Ridge Dinosaur Fieldwork
Lightning Ridge is one of the only places in Australia to find dinosaurs! I worked with a team from the Australian Opal Centre and the University of New England to look for new dinosaur specimens.

Superstars of STEM - Science & Technology Australia
Superstars of STEM is a national program that aims to elevate the public profiles of females scientists with the aim of smashing gender assumptions and sterotypes, showing that anyone can do science, and providing diverse role models for the next generation of students and scientists across Australia.
Digging Dinosaurs in Canada
In July 2023 I was able to go on fieldwork in Dinosaur Provincial Park in Canada, a world-class fossil site where we were excavating new skeletons!
Sydney Comedy Festival
Working with the Sydney Comedy Festival, I was able to work with a comedian, alongisde 10 other scientists from all over Sydney to add some humour into our research. From being sent pictures of a human finger bone, to discussions on Indiana Jones, this was a hilarious opportunity to connect with audiences in an engaging (and hopefully funny!) way!
From volunteering to dream museum job - The Lighthouse
A childhood fascination with dinosaurs led Sally Hurst to pursue a Master of Research in Palaeontology and Archaeology at Macquarie and ultimately to a job at the Australian Museum.
